Just off end of Dike “C”, Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. Arrive at refuge ca. 10:30 – Larry Malone to us out to burial site. The carcass was in remarkable shape considering it had been in the ground (sand, 24” down) for 10 months. All of the major viscera were recognizable, found penis, took total length. In fleshing out the head noticed a lot of calculi in the orbital part of the pterygoid sinus. Vaguely looked like a Crassicauda infestation. Collected the whole skeleton, then went down to the south end of the island, had lunch and test the ATV. Went up to Ocean City for the night, discovering that the cruise scheduled for tomorrow had been canceled.
