Symbols of good luck, such as the horseshoe, four-leaved clover, horns of plenty, and wish-bones appeared at events such as store openings, graduations, and other celebrations. The floral horseshoe was also a popular novelty design for horse races, both for its equestrian reference and as an emblem of good fortune. Though far rarer, this floral frame design may appear as a center piece for dinner party.
